A Winter Walk

It snowed here overnight and there was ice about this morning so I didn’t want to risk going cycling. Salt and grit had put down on the main roads, but I prefer quieter lanes which don’t tend to get the same attention from the local council. The sun was shining so I didn’t want to stay in all day. I suffer from S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) so I need to make the most of what little sunshine we get here in the winter.

I ended up walking about a mile and a half to Mytholmroyd, and returned via a big hill which has some nice views of the Calder Valley in which both Mytholmroyd and my current home town of Hebden Bridge are situated. I took some photographs with my new Fujifilm digital camera. It was the camera’s first real test and I was very pleased with it. I was able to carry the camera in the palm of my hand and hardly notice that it was there and it was ¬†easy to operate with gloved hands. I’ll definitely be taking it out with me on walks and bike rides in future.
