Weight Loss Progress – Week 9
I’m not going to report my weight for last week because I have been away and didn’t have access to my scales. I normally take 7 daily readings and average them to arrive at a representative figure for the week. Let me just say that I was pleasantly surprised to find that I’d actually managed a loss while I was away. I will be able to calculate a number next week as I’m back to logging the daily readings again.
My original waist measurement was 45″, last week it was 41.0″, this week it is 40.5″ . That was a loss from my waist last week of around 0.5″ and a total loss so far of 4.5″ (all rounded to nearest half inch).

[No, I hadn't eaten 10,000 carrots last week - I forgot to open the blinds to take the photo and my webcam didn't seem to like the low light conditions. I can't be bothered to set it all up again!]
I did a 42 mile singlespeed bike ride and 4 brisk 20 minute strolls.
My week’s worth of ‘treats’ (i.e. not strictly healthy food and drink) were a few slices of bread here and there, more beer than I should have had, a couple of big meals, and some birthday cake. That’s not too bad considering that I attended a big 50th birthday do and had several meals with my family when I usually eat more than I normally do.
Verdict on the week – I would have been pleased not to gain weight while I was away. The fact that I managed to actually lose weight is a big boost to me after a few bad weeks. Also – a few people have commented that I’d lost weight since Christmas, so that means that it is definitely starting to show – yippee!
