Weight Loss Progress – Week 21

I started this year weighing 220.0 pounds (15 stone 10.0 pounds, 99.8 kg). Last week, I weighed 205.1 pounds (14 stone 9.1 pounds, 93.0 kg). This week again – no change! Total weight loss so far is 14.9 pounds or 6.8 kg (17.6 pounds, 1 stone 3.6 pounds, or 8.0 kg since Christmas). My original waist measurement was 45″, last week it was 39.0″ and this week it remains the same. That is a total loss so far of 6.0″ (all rounded to nearest half inch).

Exercise for week: A couple of hilly walks and a 64 mile bike ride with over 6,000 ft of hills, some very steep.

Weight gain due to alcohol intake only just cancelled out at the end of the week by more than 6 hours of hard cycling over big hills on a hot day. Does this make sense. I ask myself? No, I answer myself…

Here is the current OJ-ometer.

Verdict on week – To be honest, I'm struggling not to put weight back on! The first part of the week my weight was definitely up and so was my waist size. In fact my waist isn't quite back to where it was a week ago, and it's only the fact that I'm measuring to the nearest half inch that let's me claim that it hasn't changed.

I don't think that I'm going to lose much weight this week either because I have friends coming up at the weekend and we will probably eat out and go to the pub a couple of times. At least we should (hopefully) be getting a good mountain bike ride in. I'll just have to make sure that I also get plenty of exercise before the weekend to cut myself a bit of slack for the evenings out. I know in theory I should be able to watch what I eat and drink, but we only do this once a year and I want to enjoy myself. How much damage can I possibly do in two evenings out? Watch this space… 😉
