Stroll – Mytholmroyd and Back (20-Feb-10)

I was supposed to be doing the mini North-West Passage audax ride today but I’d called it off because of bad weather reports from round the region. ***

Well, funnily enough, the sun was shining here and I needed some shopping so I walked ‘the long way round’ to the shops with Lisa. We did our little walk to Mytholmroyd along the Calder Valley Cycleway, and returned up the bridleway above Nest Estate, then down through Crow Nest Wood and Fairfield.

I had a lot to do today, so a 90 minute stroll was perfect.

Everybody else seems to have had snow recently but we are clear here, apart from a few isolated patches in the shadows on the hills.

I have a bike ride organised with some fellow CycleChat forum members tomorrow so I hope it stays like this!

*** PS I read the report of one rider who did the Mini-NWP. He had a great time, but he said that it was so cold that his water bottles froze solid on his bike. Yikes – not for me, thanks! 😯
