Short walks and rides (Coventry)

No, I hadn’t given up on the blog – I’ve been away visiting my family in Coventry! Here’s a summary of what exercise I’ve had while I was away. All rides were on my singlespeed bike so were a bit harder than they normally would have been on a multi-geared bike.

Tuesday, 11th May – a stroll to Hebden Bridge station with a heavy rucksack on my back.

Wednesday, 12th May – a short ride (about 10 minutes) from my mum’s flat to my sister’s house (I got a lift there with my bike).

Thursday, 13th May – I rode the ‘long way round’ to visit my mum via Corley Moor – about 10 miles. (Stopped overnight)

Friday, 14th May – 10 minute ride back to my sister’s house. A brisk 10 minute stroll to visit a friend, and another home again.

Saturday, 15th May – To ma via Corley Moor and later a 10 minute ride back to my sister’s house. A brisk 10 minute stroll to visit a friend, and another home again.

Sunday, 16th May – To ma via Corley Moor and later a 10 minute ride back to my sister’s house.

Monday, 17th May – a brisk walk back from Hebden Bridge station with my heavy rucksack.

Only about 4 or 5 hours exercise in total, but I quite like the feeling that this ‘micro-dosing’ gives me. I normally do nothing for days at a time and then go out and over-stretch myself on the bike. Short rides and brisk walks get my pulse rate up for a while but don’t tire me. I’m definitely going to try and do simulated commutes at least a few days a week and see how I get on with those.
