Progress Report – Week 28

This is a deferred weight loss progress report. It is both a progress report deferred from yesterday (because I forgot to do it) and a report of weight loss which has been deferred until a later date. This week I am deferring all of a 2.0 pounds weight loss until an as-yet unspecified later date. If the incidence of deferred progress continues like this, I think I will eventually be able to report that my entire remaining target weight loss has been deferred, possibly until the afterlife, or my reincarnation (depending on which one of my non-beliefs you prefer). It took a great deal of beer drinking to overcome the genuine progress made through my sensible/healthy eating plan and hilly lard-hauling walks and bike rides. For this increase in deferral, I hereby give thanks to our nation’s fine brewers. Where would I be now without Fiddler’s Elbow, Black Sheep, Fursty Ferret, and myriad other tasty ales? Not to mention those refreshing chilled lagers and ciders. Oops, I forgot – I wasn’t supposed to mention them! 😳

I started this year weighing 220.0 pounds (15 stone 10.0 pounds, 99.8 kg). I now weigh 205.0 pounds (14 stone 9.0 pounds, 93.0 kg), the same as last week.

Total weight loss so far is 15.0 pounds or 6.8 kg (17.7 pounds, 1 stone 3.7 pounds, or 8.0 kg since Christmas). My original waist measurement was 45″, last week it was 39.0″ and this week it remains the same. That is a total loss so far of 6.0″ (all rounded to nearest half inch).

Exercise for week: Just the two hilly road rides totalling about 50 miles. Must try harder.

Here is the current OJ-ometer.

  1. I’ll defer my congratulations then !

Still: a) You haven’t put any weight on! b) Sunday will provide the springboard for realization of those deferrals!

The Missus and I like to sit in the garden after work if it’s sunny and drink a glass of cold cider, not that Irish rubbish either.

  2. Hi Alun.

I was just replying to your post on CycleChat!

I’m making light of my lack of progress but obviously I’m disappointed.

As I’ve admitted – it’s due to beer drinking. I’m hoping that I can cut back again now that some family pressures are easing. I get stressed out and I feel that having a few beers to relax is the lesser of two evils. If I got out on my bikes more I’d probably be too tired to fret but most nights I’m still wide awake into the early hours.

    See you Sunday!
