Another Couple of Short Walks

I'm just keeping things up to date …

Thursday: I did a 13 minute power-walk up the hill to Heptonstall to meet Lisa for lunch. It was a nice sunny afternoon, so we did a leisurely walk back via Heptonstall quarry afterwards, rather than coming straight back down the Heptonstall road.

Today: Lisa and I walked along the canal towpath to avoid the main road, then up Church Lane to the bridleway up Colden Clough. She wanted us to walk briskly despite my assurances that we had plenty of time. We normally turn off up Lumb Bank to get to the village, but we decided to go higher up the valley and cross over the old stone footbridge, giving us much longer in the sunshine before we got into Heptonstall.

It was a lovely afternoon, and very mild in the sunshine. Still pretty cool in the shade though …

We had time for a cafe visit, after which I walked back down the road, then the Buttress to go shopping in town.

My weight is definitely slowly dropping from its peak but I'm not going to get back into writing weekly reports, or even monthly ones until I get back to the lowest weight I reached in 2009.

My leg muscles are well on the way back now. Each walk and each ride is getting easier. I just can't wait for the Spring!
