Road Ride – Trough of Bowland Loop

Fellow CycleChat member Russ (CC name: Sysagent) organised a nice little ride over the Trough of Bowland, starting and finishing at Spring Wood picnic centre, Whalley. The route was 44 miles (71 km) in length and takes in some of my favourite local countryside so I was keen to join in. If it had been [...]

Stations walks

I hadn’t had the chance to get any walks or rides in the past few days because I’ve been away visiting my frail and poorly mother. Hopefully she will be okay, but I’m not sure she will be. It’s a worrying time…

Power Walk up t’Hill

No point in dressing this little walk up as more than it was! I dashed up the hill to Heptonstall for lunch with Lisa, and strolled back into town to do my shopping. It got my heart rate up very high for 15 minutes and stretched my legs for 30. Every little helps…

Road Ride – Nick o’Pendle, Waddington Fell

A group of 7 intrepid CycleChat riders gathered this morning in Hebden Bridge, determined to make the most of the forecast sunshine by riding the route of the Season of Mists audax event. I started off on the official ride last Sunday, but horrendous weather conditions led to me and 2 other CycleChat members abandoning [...]

Power Walk and Stroll – Fearsome Fungi, Heptonstall

It was another sunny Thursday, so I did (yet) another power walk up the hill to meet Lisa after my market shopping. We’d put aside enough change for take-out coffees (yes, I know, sad isn’t it!) so we bought them from the local cafe and walked to the seats near the old ruined church in [...]
